WORLD CONFERENCE
AGAINST ATOMIC & HYDROGEN BOMBS, JAPAN
World Conference against Atomic & Hydrogen Bombs, the Gensuikyo, (organizing Committee of Japan Council against A & H Bombs) organizes 63rd Annual Global Campaign Conference against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs takes place in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan on August 1 to 9, 2008.
The Main Theme of the World conference is “For a Nuclear Weapon-Free, Peaceful and Just world.”
About Japan Council against A & H bombs:
During the second World War, Hiroshima and Nagasaki experienced the worst horrendous attack against humanity in the history of mankind on the citizens, where atomic and hydrogen bombs were dropped on the 6th and 9th respectively in both cities, over 4,000 innocent civilians were roasted in the explosion and also millions of families were rendered useless with radioactive waste materials from the Uranium & Platinum bombs that were used.
For 63 years since then, the Japanese are suffering from series of cancers from the waste products of the bombs and passing them on from one generation to another. 1945 World War 11 should be made knowledgeable to the youths of the world. Remembering Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings with Uranium and Platinum bombs is to hate nuclear war and to commit oneself to peace.
The World Youth Peace Organization invites all Youth members and Parent supporters to join this great conference to contribute in achieving the goal through interaction, cooperation and solidarity with other international delegates in this 2008 World Conference Campaign in Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Japan. Calls for abolition of Nuclear Weapons are increasing, in amid growing concern over the danger of nuclear proliferation for profit purposes by some nations.
The nuclear possessing states and the new hungry states, that are in the process of producing nuclear arsenals are urged with urgency by the grass-root movement of anti-nuclear weapon campaign to collaborate in the implementation of the “unequivocal undertaking” to eliminate nuclear weapons during the period leading to the 2010 Non Proliferate Treaty (NPT) Review Conference.
“War is the work of man
War is the destruction of life
War is death
To remember the past is to commit oneself to the future
To remember Hiroshima is to abhor nuclear war
To remember Hiroshima is to commit oneself to peace”.
